Why Build Your Own Shed?
Building your own storage shed can be a lot of fun. You can even involve the family in on the fun as an outdoor activity.
Your number one reason to build your own shed maybe is to save money. Yes, done the right way, it can save you a lot of money. You can even have your own design without having to choose from the limited pre-fabricated designs you can buy at the store.
Having said that, it is a good idea to have a good working plan or blueprint to guide you along the way. If you just want a simple design, you may find one free on the Internet but if you want a fancy design you may need to get a set of plans designed by the professionals. Professionally designed plans are more complete than the free ones and can be flexible where you can easily make some changes to suit your need. Furthermore, they are also likely to confirm to building codes in your area - this is important.
Yes you search for and download free shed plans on the Internet but I'm not fond of them. They usually are incomplete. There links to paid professionally designed blueprints for less than a cent each on this blog. Good paid blueprints usually cost at least $5 a piece when you buy separately. It's a lot cheaper to buy a collection of blueprints for less than $50. You will not only get shed blueprints but also blueprints for lots of other woodworking projects.
